Yugioh Irish Open Championship

4th January 2009
First event of the new year and all went off without a hitch. Ireland's top duelists are here and some names from the Uk. Players came from all counties to find out who really is the best of the best. 85 people with 7 rounds. This kicks off a great new year for Yugioh in Ireland.

Takeovergame's first high level event with the winner to take home a laptop computer and due to ipod's being unavailable on the day the runner-up took home a brand new xbox360. Such a prize has only ever been offered at national events before in Ireland.

With the metagame of the moment: Lightsworn, Stun, Tele Dark Armed Dragon and Oppression Monarch reigning supreme at most locals, what can take home the title of Irish Open Champion. Gorz the Emissary of Darkness has been legal for premier events for nearly a while now but duelists are still in two minds of it. While allowing you to safely pass a turn with an open field or fight back a swarm from your opponent.

A number of top competitors are here this morning! Stephen Lynam, PJ Tierney, Salem Teko, Darryl Day, and a few faces have popped in from across the water in the UK. TeleDAD is the deck on everyones mind here today. How to beat it, whats its weakness.

At this moment 85 duelists are registered to play, meaning we have seven rounds of competition. Welcome to the first TakeOverGames event of 2009, The Yugioh Irish Open!
